We are happy to announce that AtlasVet will be opening our doors to clients on Wednesday, June 30th! We will be allowing 1 client to enter the building with their pet for doctor appointments only. Technician appointments, medication/food pickups, and lab sample drop-offs will remain curbside. All clients are required to wear a mask when interacting with staff and when inside our building, regardless of vaccine status. Please note we recently have become a nut-free clinic. Please do not bring treats for your pets (or yourself) that contain peanut butter or other nuts we have ample varieties of treats inside to give them!
For doctor appointments (in-clinic):
Please call 202-552-8600 upon arrival and a Client Service Advocate will let your veterinarian technician know you have arrived. Prior to your appointment, you will have received a check-in form so that we have more complete information prior to your visit. This form streamlines the check in process and makes sure the doctor has a list of everything you want to address before your appointment.
When they are ready and prepared to start your appointment, your technician will then come outside to escort both you and your pet straight into exam room. Please note we are only allowing one human per appointment into the building (this includes children and multi-pet appointments). Your technician will gather any necessary medical history or information.
Your AtlasVet veterinarian will enter the room and discuss what is needed, then may perform the exam in the room or in the treatment area, depending on your pet. Additional treatments outside of the exam will also most likely performed in the treatment area
After necessary treatments are performed, you will be informed to wait in the lobby until your invoice is ready.
A CSA will call you up to be checked out. We use a web-based system so the CSA will ask you to hold the card up to barrier and or /slide the card under the glass.
We are no longer allowed to park in the back parking lot as this is private property.
For tech appointments, medication pick ups, food pick ups, and sample drop-offs:
Please call 202-552-8600 upon arrival and a Client Service Advocate upon arrival
Either a technician or CSA will help you with your request, but you will remain outside of AtlasVet for your visit. The clinic is on a busy and often noisy street. If you are concerned about your pet waiting outside in this environment, please let our staff know. We are no longer able to do curbside appointments in the parking lot behind AtlasVet as this is private property that we had access to during the pandemic.
Our appointment slots are quite valuable given the current volume, and when a client “no shows” it prevents us from giving another client in need that spot. If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please let us know ASAP. If you have missed an appointment recently and did not contact us, you may be asked to provide a deposit which will be applied to your appointment invoice.
Our AtlasVet Team has been showing up and working under very stressful conditions for the entirety of the pandemic. Please be patient with us, and practice as much kindness as you can muster. We all care about your pets and want the best care for you and your furry family. Swearing at our staff or other forms of verbal abuse will not be tolerated, and will result in an immediate termination of our relationship.
